Hello! Just a quick update to let you know I am alive and well, and so is Jen Jesseph Photography! We have had a wonderful fall, winter and spring here in Knoxville - the fall colors and the spring blooms are simply amazing. We are finding our way around, the kids are settled in school, and the many house projects are slowly getting crossed off even as new ones pop up (ah, the joy of older homes).
The good news is that Jen Jesseph Photography has reopened here in Knoxville! I have thoroughly enjoyed my break, but I am so excited to get back to doing what I love!
Along with our new town is a brand new website and blog which we are finally ready to unveil! I blame the delay on the impossible chore of picking images - there are so many I love and wish that I could include them all!
My new website is www.jenjesseph.com and my new blog is www.jenjessephphotography.com/blog. PLEASE NOTE that it is a NEW blog, and this one will no longer be updated. Please update your bookmarks and feeds.
To all my Dallas area clients, I am making a quick trip next week! I will be sending out an e-mail this afternoon with details, but if for some reason you don't receive it and are interested in a mini-session, let me know. There will be a limited number of sessions offered, first come first served.
To all of my Colorado clients, we are tentatively planning a trip for July, so mark your calendars! I will be sending out a note regarding sessions sometime in early June.
I have some new contact information so please update your records:

So long, farewell...
Goodbye Dallas! Knoxville here we come!
I have tried to let everyone know beforehand, but if I happened to miss anyone I am so sorry - it is not that you aren't important to me, it is more likely due to me being a loony mess getting ready for this move!
To my wonderful clients, associates and friends: Thank you, thank you, thank you. You have all made my time in Dallas so very special, I hope we cross paths again someday. Please stay in touch, I would love to know how you and your families are doing. Look me up if you are ever near Knoxville!
To Texas Summer Heat: See ya. You will not be missed.

Website down
Yes, I am still here and alive! I have lots to update, but wanted to quickly let everyone know that my website was accidentally erased (I see some of you knowingly shaking your head at me and smiling, but I swear I didn't do it!) :)
We are looking to get a simple page up in the meantime. The good news is that a great new site is in the works! I am so excited!
You can still reach me at jen@jenjessephphotography.com or 469-235-9866.
Lots of images from wonderful clients and other big news coming soon! Stay tuned...

Sweet
I know I overuse the word "sweet" or one of it variations - sweetness, sweetie, sweetie pie, sweet cheeks - you get the picture. But how could I not use that adjective on a baby as cute as this??
You may remember this session from last fall - HERE
She is the SWEET baby that was still on the way. Well worth the wait, no?

Sugary, syrupy SWEET! :)

Big hearts
When I hear of couples that are adopting my heart just smiles. When a baby or child is brought together with a family that has been longing, wanting, waiting - that is an event that is just as miraculous as a birth.
This is one of my son's teachers and her newly adopted miracle. This says it all :)

I just adore the look on dad's face...pure love, awe, and happiness all mixed together.

Well Hello little man!

I love images like this because it feels like a sneak peek into their world. I also love that they obviously have an appreciation for photography and understand how important it is to preserve family memories!

I have so many I want to share, but I will leave with this one. It reminds me of when my boys were babies themselves. I would get so close and just stare at all of their amazing little features. Beautiful.

Beauties
Everyone knows I love black and whites, but once I started looking at these in color I couldn't resist showing them that way! This gorgeous mom and daughter looked amazing in the early evening light.

A few black and whites because you know I couldn't resist. :)

Can't you tell what a sweet relationship they had?

Just adorable.

Six years ago today...
I was blessed with Noah.
It took some begging to get this picture, but this is him, today. Six. Wearing his Kansas Jayhawks shirt that he knows his dad loves.
He is the sunshine in our family, always bringing joy, smiles and laughter even on the roughest of days. He is kind, caring and always thinking about things much bigger than his six year old world.
He adores his big brother, loves to snuggle, tends to kick and punch in his sleep, loves all things Star Wars (ask him anything, he knows it). Wishes candy was good for you, loves his friends, loves to play, loves to wrestle, loves practical jokes. Doesn't like mushy food, living in tornado alley, hurting peoples feelings. Hates anything pink/ponies/princess related (but likes girls who wear sparkly stuff). His favorite colors are green, white, yellow, black, silver and blue (one for each year). He wants to work in a candy factory when he grows up. Or be a spy. He wants to have eight kids if his wife says it is O.K. and he wants to live by his mom.
As you so sweetly and genuinely tell me, I will tell you - Noah, I love you all the days and all the nights. Although I want to freeze time as it is right now, I also can't wait to see the man you become. I think you are, and will be, spectacular.

Please note:
We will be closed March 13th through the 16th! I will return all calls and e-mails as soon as possible upon my return. Have a great weekend!
******************
BUT, before I go, I wanted to share a sweet new member of this world, Molly. 10 days old.
Mom is smitten, who could blame her?

Do you think we had fun?
I would say so! There was a belly full of giggles that morning for sure.
These are a good example of images that would look great in a series together.

Sweet little sis took a little encouraging that morning, but look how great she did! So very adorable! It was so funny that when she would refuse to sit or stand somewhere, as soon as she saw big sis do it she was right behind her! Hey, a girl had a right to change her mind! :)

It was great seeing you guys again!

Throwing fuzzy ones into the mix
You know, PETS! If you think toddlers have a mind of their own, that is nothing compared to our furry friends. I am often willing to give it a shot, but as I just mentioned dogs are often more interested in anything other than the camera.

But, sometimes we get lucky and catch them for a split second.

Even kids have their own ideas, which almost always end up being fun (especially if you have willing siblings).

Thanks H family for a great time!

Cousins
In December I had such a great time photographing these sisters and their kids! I always think cousins are such a fun dynamic and really have special relationships. It is so great that these sisters who live in different states are really making an effort to make sure their kids know each other!
The sisters (gorgeous, right??)

This family lives here

And this one out of state

We found a little patch of woods near their home and had the best time exploring, playing, and throwing leaves!

These eyes are just an amazing ice blue!

Thank you for the great day!!

Find your peace
While on vacation in Colorado I had a really wonderful experience. One snowy afternoon I took a walk up an isolated road to a point where I was surrounded by only mountains and trees. As I stood there taking in the beautiful scene, I suddenly became aware that the only sound I could hear was the snow softly hitting my jacket. I can't remember the last time I was in such sweet, peaceful silence. I stood there for quite a while trying to memorize that view and that feeling so I could bring it back out when life gets a little too crazy and a little too loud.
It is so easy to get caught up in the noise of life but I really encourage you all to set aside time, even if it just for a few moments, to find your peace. I know Dallas is far from the mountains, but there are plenty of places to pause for a bit. Go in a dark closet if neccesary. :)
It does the soul good.

Did I blink?
WOW...where has December gone?!?!
I apologize for not updating but I have been working my tail off making sure everyone was able to get their prints, albums and cards in time for the holidays!
I promise to catch up and post tons of great client images in January after I spend some much needed time with my family.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and that you have time to reflect, refocus, and truly enjoy your families and the other joys in your life.
See you in 2008! It is going to be a great year!

Twins!
I have had so much fun this last month! Besides all of my wonderful regular clients I had the pleasure of photographing triplets, twins as well as assisting on a quadruplet shoot! Plus I get another set of triplets in a few weeks!
I think you will have to agree that these twins are beyond adorable. As I sat here editing these I couldn't help but let several audible "awwww"s and "ohhhh, how cute!"s slip out. When I get to look at faces like this all day I can't help but think how much I love my job. :)

1, 2, 3....
two year old triplets!!
I am just in awe of this family...everything they do is times three and they pull it off beautifully -- while staying beautiful the whole while!

All three kiddos were so adorable.
Can you believe these curls! Just to die for, and when combined with that adorable smile she is off the scales cute!

I just loved how this sweetheart could go from thoughtful to silly in a split second. Isn't she stunning?!

And last but not least, the brother of the gang. Cute as can be and a first class charmer...he is going to break some hearts someday!

and all together...

All work and no play? Never!
This is sweet Emma - I meet her earlier this year when I photographed her wonderful family (I'll share those soon!!). Anyway her mom wanted to capture a few of her at this age as she had done with her two older children. We did a few formal ones at their home then we headed to the park!
It was so much fun chasing Emma around and watching her have a blast! I love that I was able to capture those big grins and belly laughs, because that is what childhood should be about, right?

Something different
I was so excited when this family decided they wanted to do an "urban" session in the downtown area. There are so many great colors, textures and architectural details it would make any photographer drool.
Beautiful girls again...(seriously, are they making kids more beautiful these days??? I don't remember looking like anything but an clumsy, lanky, freckled goofball at that age - well, this age too now that I mention it!)

I mentioned beautiful, right?

This smile could not be contained!!

SO CUTE!!

Together....

Last but not least - Family. I debated posting this because it really can not be appreciated at this size. But as a huge wall portrait - now that would have impact.

Thank you for the wonderful session!!

Dallas + August = HOT!
This session was back in August, but I think these great kids definitely deserve a mention for being such troopers!
As is typical in August, it was a hot steamy day, but we had the added bonus of fighting off mighty thirsty mosquitoes. Despite that, I think these kids did an amazing job! They are not only gorgeous but truly good kids.
First, Katie, who to me is an all-american beauty!

Next we have Elizabeth - she is only 12 and is already STUNNING - such gorgeous hair, skin and eyes!

Here is baby brother Rett - the handsome 3rd grader and comedian of the family!

I had to include one more...you can tell what a special bond these sisters have!

What a great week!
We are definitely in the midst of the busy season! It can be so exhausting, but all the fun that comes with it makes every late night, packed schedule and mad dash from activity to activity worth it!
I will be posting many sneak peeks and great client images soon, but before I head out for the day here are my own two boys trick or treating and at the pumpkin patch.
**disclaimer** I swear my son's skeleton pants fit when I bought them a month ago! :)

Happy Halloween!
I hope you all have a wonderful and safe Halloween!
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of doing a really quick session with these sweet girls at the Dallas Arboretum. If you haven't been there, it is a must see. I enjoyed it so much that right after this session I went and bought my family a season pass!

This one made me laugh...I love the way big sis is looking at little sis like she is crazy.

Now this I admire...if you are going to go for it, go BIG!
